EP--80241 A Diazo-type material comprises a support carrying a light sensitive diazo layer which comprises as a binding agent partially (20-45%) hydrolysed polyvinylacetate (PVAC) and also amorphous synthetic silica with a bound water content of at least 50 wt.%. The PVAC is derived from another PVAC having a Hoeppler viscosity in ethylacetate at 20 deg.C of 25-2000 mPa.s. - Also claimed is a material comprising a translucent support, a subbing layer on both sides, a drafting layer on one of the subbing layers and the light sensitive layer on the other, the drafting layer contg. the same PVAC binder. - The materials are well developed by aq. processing solns. and the light sensitive layer is resistant to attack by such solns. Wet-rub-resistance is also good. (8pp) USAB- US4471043 A New diazotype material comprises, a support carrying a light sensitive diazo type layer formed of a dispersion of light sensitive diazonium cpd. in a polymeric binder comprising hydrolysed polyvinyl acetates of degree of hydrolysis 20-45%, such that dispersion contains amorphous hydrated silica particles of bound water content 50wt.% or more. - Pref. polyvinyl acetate used is a partially hydrolysed prod. having a Hoeppler viscosity of 25-2000 mPa.s. at 20 deg.C in ethyl acetate.
