PURPOSE:To remove surface electric charge with a simple mechanism and to assure an always stable copy image by providing a conductive layer to a part of a sheet member where the member contacts with a carrying body and grounding said layer. CONSTITUTION:A remaining toner is cleaned by a cleaning blade 15 and the erasure of the surface charge remaining on the surface of a photosensitive drum 1 is executed by a sheet member 16 in common use as a plate for capturing the removed toner. A thin conductive film 16b is formed on a flexible PET base 16a by, for example, vapor deposition of aluminum and is brought into sliding contact with the surface of a photosensitive drum 1 under the uniform press contact force. The other end thereof is grounded to a conductor 18 to the device body. The surface charge remaining on the drum 1 migrates to 16b of the sheet member 16 and flows through a conductor 20 to the device body side, by which the surface charge of the drum 1 is erased. |
