PURPOSE:To enable temperature control of a heating element to be rapidly and accurately performed and the dispersion of printing density to be eliminated by detecting the temperature of each component of the heating element minutely and correctly using highly conductive lead electrode. CONSTITUTION:The noticeable unit block 2K of a heating element 2 retains a prearranged level of heat while a thermal head H is continuously printing. This heat is effectively conducted to a corresponding lead electrode 4, so its temperature is indirectly and precisely detected by a temperature sensor Sk. Then temperature information is entered into a temperature detection circuit 10, and if accumulated heat content information of the noticeable unit block 2K is detected by an accumulated heat content detection circuit 15, an image signal Dk of prearranged pulse width is outputted from a thermal head drive circuit 20 and applied to the noticeable unit block 2k from the terminal ak of a corresponding lead electrode 3, thus controlling a calorific value to a predetermined level. |
