The invention is a device for blowing air from a ventilation system into public locales with fixed seats that have backrests (3). The air is blown into the locale through vents (21) that are situated in the floor (1a, 1b) and direct the air straight up past the undersides of the backrests (3) and then along the backrest so that the ventilation air mixes with ambient air both as it flows along the backrests (3) and above the heads of the seat occupants.
