发明名称 NOVEL DOUBLE-LAYERED DIAPHRAGM FOR ELECTROLYSIS
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the titled diaphragm having high current efficiency, low film resistance, and extremely high mechanical strength, by incorporating a particular porous body layer comprising an F-contg. polymer and an ion exchanger layer in combination. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant such as white oil or fluorooil is added to an F-contg. polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene, and 5-100 wt%, based on the polymer, inorg. substance that imparts a hydrophilic nature, such as TiO2 or Ba2TiO4 with an averageparticle size of 5mu or below, is incorporated with the mixture. The resulting blend is extruded or rolled into a film, which is streched to form a porous film, which is sintered at a temp. under or above the m.p. of said polymer, thus yielding a porous body layer with a pore diameter of 0.05-10mu, a porosity of 30-95%, a thickness of 30-450mu, and a hydrophilic nature on the surface of the anode side and in the inner part. An ion exchanger layer formed from two or more F-contg. polymer layers having sulfonic and/or carboxyl groups, with a thickness of 5mu or more and thinner than said porous body layer and an ion exchange capacity of 0.5-2.5meg/g dry resin is laid on the surface of the cathode side of the porous body layer and heat-melted at 100-250 deg.C to laminate integrally so that the total thickness is 35-500mu.
