<p>PURPOSE:Fluorescent particles of high resistance is coated on their surfaces with fine particles of an electrically conductive substance using an organic binder to produce the titled fluorescent substance which is suitable for use in fluorescent display tubes, because is gives uniform emission luminance without causing insulation defects. CONSTITUTION:(A) Fluorescent particles of high resistance such as ZnS:Ag, ZnS:Cu,Al, (ZnCd)S:Ag or Y2O2S:Eu and (B) fine particles of a conductive sub stance such as In2O3, SnO or ZnO are dispersed in (C) an oraganic binder solu tion to prepare a fluorescent slurry. Then, the slurry is stirred in (D) a nonsolvent to component C and the resultant fluorescent substance coated with an electroconductive substance is collected and dried to give the objective fluores cent substance. Component C is preferably a water-soluble polymer such as PVA or a polymer soluble in a solvent, while component D is preferably an organic solvent, water or an aqueous solution which the component C absorbs.</p> |
