PURPOSE:To satisfy the quantity of magnetic flux for erase required by an erasing head and the quantity of high frequency bias required by a recording and reproducing head together by forming a composite magnetic head where a groove for bias adjustment of the recording and reproducing head is provided on a magnetic path shared between the recording and reproducing head and the erasing head. CONSTITUTION:The recording and reproducing head provided with a magnetic gap Grp is constituted with a magnetic patch member 1 consisting of a ferromagnetic material, a magnetic path member 2 consisting of a ferromagnetic material, and a recording and reproducing coil 3, and the erasing head provided with a magnetic gap Ge is constituted with a magnetic path member 4 consisting of a ferromagnetic material, the magnetic path member 2 consisting of the ferromagnetic material, and an erasing coil 5. The magnetic path member 2 is used as the magnetic patch member shared between the recording and reproducing head and the erasing head, and this magnetic path member 2 is provided with a groove 6 for bias adjustment of the recording and reproducing head, and a depth l and a width W of the groove 6 are so selected that information signals recorded on a magnetic recording medium are erased well. |
