The invention is a driving rail for a board elevator or a similar transport device for piece feeding boards or other elongated objects in the transverse direction of the objects. The driving rail (1) is designed in such a way that its one, front long edge moves into contact with one long edge of an object lying on a base and moves this object along the base. In this invention, the driving rail's (1) front long edge is designed with a V-shaped recess (5) in the cross section. This recess in principle extends over the entire length of the rail (1) and is at the same height as such. In addition, a gripper (9) with at least one gripper tip (10) is situated at at least one point along the rail (1) along the dividing line between the front long edge and the surface (7) of the rail (1) that is farthest from the base.
