PURPOSE:To prevent backward flow in a pump and reduce disk friction loss by narrowing clearance between the circumferential end part of a rear face shroud and the inlet of a guide vane and conforming the outer diameter of a front face shroud to that of a vane. CONSTITUTION:An impeller 11 is equipped with a front face shroud 12, a rear face shroud 13 and a vane 14. And clearance G2 between the circumferential end part of the rear face shroud 13 and the inlet of the guide vane 15 is considerably narrower than clearance G1 between the circumferential end part of the front face shroud 12 and the inlet of the guide vane 15. Also, the outer diameter of the front face shroud 12 is designed to be smaller than the rear face shround 13. Therefore, backward flow on the low flow area side characterized by smaller quantity of delivery can be prevented and decline in pump efficiency due to disk friction loss can be diminished.
