PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of input of a character string by outputting character size set at present at the access of a registered fixed phrase. CONSTITUTION:The initial character is extracted from a fixed phrase dictionary registered in a user dictionary and whether the current set character size is an en, an am or a double em is decided. When the decided result is the em, an access character is expressed as an em character. When the decided result is the em, whether the character can be converted into an en character or not is decided, and then the decision is YES, change to the en character is executed. In case of NO, the em character is used. In case of the double em, conversion to the double em character is executed. Since the fixed phrase is outputted on the basis of the character size set at present, the handling of the device can be improved.
