PURPOSE:To attain to simplify the titled apparatus by dispensing with a complicated diluent injection mechanism, by injecting a diluent in an ink tank by destructing a diluent sealed package by the package destruction member provided to the upper part of the ink tank. CONSTITUTION:A diluent injection port 6 is provided to the upper part of an ink tank 5 and a package destruction member 6a is provided to said injection port 6 sideways in a protruded state. A diluent sealed package 30 is formed by holding a predetermined amount of a diluent 32 in a diluent sealing member 31 comprising a vinyl resin. When the rising in the viscosity of ink is detected by the sensor of the apparatus and a diluent injection indicator lamp is lighted on a panel, the diluent sealed package 30 is inserted in the injection port. Whereupon, the diluent sealing member 31 is torn by the destruction member 6a to inject the diluent 32 in the ink tank 5. |
