<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of suppressing a sense of incongruity in driving a vehicle while generating a desired acceleration. <P>SOLUTION: When an operation speed of an accelerator pedal 20 is faster than a predetermined operation speed, an absolute value of target acceleration is increased by multiplying the target acceleration as a target output value by an amplification gain. Thus, when requested acceleration of a driver is large, the requested acceleration can be achieved. In addition, the amplification gain used for multiplying the target acceleration returns to a state where the absolute value is not increased by setting the amplification gain to one when the target acceleration is close to zero, so that generation of a step in actual acceleration can be suppressed when a control for increasing the absolute value of the target acceleration by the amplification gain is stopped.
