PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the waste of the recording capacity of an imaging apparatus by preventing moving images, which are not desired by a user, from being recorded. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a first moving image-recording means for recording the moving images of a first period from the point of time of instructing recording to the point of time of instructing the end of recording; a second moving image-recording means for recording the moving images of a second period from the point of time the prescribed time before the point of time of instructing recording to the point of time of instructing recording; a selection detection means for detecting the selection of whether or not to record the moving images of the second period by a user; and a recording processing means for joining and recording the moving images recorded by the first moving image-recording means and the moving images recorded by the second moving image-recording means corresponding to a detected result by the selection detection means.
