PURPOSE:To attain the accurate alignment by providing a means generating a pulse in response to the movement of a magnetic head and a means detecting a reference position of the same movement and using a detection output to reset the said pulse signal and controlling the recording timing based on the pulse. CONSTITUTION:A head data synchronizing signal generating circuit 37 resets a frequency division pulse obtained from a frequency-dividing the encoder pulse of a printer main scanning motor 6b from the detection of a printer resist position sensor 16, and an N.L.E.(nozzle line enable) signal in generated from the reset pulse. Further, the encoder pulse of the printer side is frequency-divided by a frequency divider circuit in a period signal generating circuit 37 to reduce the error included in the encoder pulse. The NLE signal is generated from the frequency-division pulse and a BJ head drive circuit 36 controls the recording of the head. Thus, the accuracy of alignment is improved remarkably.
