The invention relates to a cylindrical accumulator for hydraulic systems in which a free-running piston is arranged, with a seal arrangement provided on its outer edge, which arrangement is supported by a spacer, on the other face edge of which a flange-like thrust collar rests. According to the invention the thrust collar 6 is designed as a stepped collar extending into the piston 2. On its edge remote from the piston head 2a it has a plurality of approximately sector-shaped, outwardly angled flanges 6a overlapping the upper edge of the piston wall and resting on the spacer 5, whilst an inwardly directed annular flange 6b is arranged on its edge facing the piston head 2a. In the annular flange bores are provided at regular intervals, above each of which a plurality of disc springs are stacked to form a set of springs 8 which is held under preloading by a bolt 9 screwed into the piston head 2a. <IMAGE>
