A structured grid which can be used, in particular, as a false ceiling is composed of rail pieces (3) which form the grid joints, can be fastened on the load-bearing surface, e.g. top ceiling, and are provided on their outer sides with a ring of undercut longitudinal grooves (7), and of straight, hollow polygonal-profile bars (4), in the end-face openings of which in each case one profile insert piece (8) is located which exhibits a push-in head for insertion into one of the longitudinal grooves (7) of the rail piece (3). The push-in head is composed of a T-rib (12) which is formed onto the profile insert piece (8) and engages behind the longitudinal edges (14) of the longitudinal grooves (7) of the rail piece (3) without play. A resilient catch member (18, 19) is provided on the profile insert piece (8) and an associated catch-receiving means (20) is provided on the rail piece (3). <IMAGE>
