A clamping arrangement for connecting a hub (2) to a shaft (1), having an outer taper ring (11) and at least one inner taper ring (18), having axial clamping screws (22) which pass through the taper rings (11, 18) and clamp them together axially and simultaneously deform them radially, and having a positive connection (6, 23), provided in the clamping region (3) of the tapered surfaces, between the inner taper ring (18) and the shaft (1) in the form of splines or the like. The positive connection (6, 23) occupies only part (7) of the length of the clamping region (3), that part which is situated at the end facing away from the region of engagement of the reaction torque to the torque on the shaft transmitted by the clamping arrangement. In the remaining part of the clamping region (3) the shaft (1) furthermore has a smooth, continuous cylindrical outer circumferential surface (4). <IMAGE>
