<p>The method involves placing the mix into a mould (2-6). The latter has walls (2,3) at least a part of which in contact with the mix are reciprocated synchronously, to subject the mix to a compacting shear action. The reciprocation can occur longitudinally or axially of the mould, or in a combination of both. The bottom of the mould can also be reciprocated. The inner surfaces of the mould sections can be roughened to improve the effect of friction. The reciprocation frequency can be 1-1,000 Hz, pref. 2-150 Hz.</p> |
