NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I(R is lower alkoxyalkyl, or lower alkenyloxyalkyl) and its salt. EXAMPLE:1-(2-Allyloxy)propionyl1-2,3-dihydro-imidazo[2,1-b] quinazolin-5(1H)one. USE:A remedy for heart diseases. Having improved coronary vasodilating action and cardiac action. PREPARATION:2,3-Dihydro-imidazo[2,1-b]quinazolin-5(1H)-one shown by the formula II is reacted with a compound shown by the formula Cl-COR in the absence of a solvent or in an organic solvent, to give a compound shown by the formula I in high yield. A high-boiling halogenated hydrocarbon such as toluene, xylene, etc. is used as the organic solvent. The reaction is carried out at 100-150 deg.C for 2-6 hours until evolution emission of a carbonic acid gas is stopped.
