PURPOSE:To prepare AMACHAZURU (Gynostemma pentaphyllum) tea having excellent green color, rich taste and flavor and high saponin content, by cutting and pulverizing the leaves and stalks of AMACHAZURU. CONSTITUTION:The raw leaves and stalks of AMACHAZURU are washed with water and cut to about 1cm long, and the product is optionally drained by centrifugal separator or on a spontaneous drying shelf to attain a proper water-content. The processed AMACHAZURU is heated with hot air, dielectric heating or infrared radiation. The treated leaves and stalks of AMACHAZURU are rolled, and dried with hot air on a drying shelf. The dried leaves and stalks are roasted in a roasting pan under vigorous agitation to obtain the objective AMACHAZURU tea. EFFECT:The tea has high hygienicity because of the heat-treatment, and has excellent green color to please the visual sensation. Furthermore, the bitter taste and the grassy smell are mitigated remarkably, and the tea has aromatic smell and pleasant sweet taste. |
