PURPOSE:To prepare the titled substance having long duration of fibrolytic activity and strong affinity to fibrin, by mixing urokinase with blood components other than blood cells to effect the reaction, and separating and purifying a substance having a specific molecular weight from the reaction mixture. CONSTITUTION:Urokinase is mixed to a collected blood component other than at least blood cells, e.g. blood serum or plasma protein, and is reacted by incubation. A substance having a molecular weight of 80,000-120,000 is separated and purified from the reaction mixture e.g. by gel-filtration, affinity chromatography, electrophoresis, etc. The obtained substance is a novel polymer complex which can be used as a thrombolytic agent.
