PURPOSE:To enable a user to retrieve desired picture information in a short time while using designated abbreviated number for picture information high in frequency of use by providing a storing device that abbreviates the picture number corresponding to the picture information and stores. CONSTITUTION:A captain terminal device 11 is constituted by connecting a RAM 12 for storing the picture number to a central processing unit 3. When storing the abbreviated number in the RAM 12, the device is brought to an abbreviated number preengagement mode by a keyboard 4, and the picture number of picture information high in frequency of use is designated. Then, after depressing a key that denotes the abbreviated memory, the desired abbreviated number is designated. When calling picture information made into the abbreviated number, a key that indicates the abbreviated number is depressed and then the abbreviated number is depressed in succession. Thus, desired picture information can be supplied.
