PURPOSE:To realize the speedy input by inputting the word through a inputting means which specifies the code according to the component factors of kanji Chinese character, and retrieving the word which corresponds with the key code in the dictionary. CONSTITUTION:The component factor of Chinese character is made into a code by the basic keys of (1 'sun4'=approx. 3.3cm width), and the key code given to each word is made by combining the part of each Chinese character codes. For example, 'HO' (low) is separated sequentially into the basic codes of 'MIZU' water) 'TSUCHI' (earth) and 'ITO' (thread), and its code is specified as '48, 51, 31' from the table (not shown in figure). The key code is made b combining the codes corresponding to 2 calligraphing of each word. A word retrieving part 4 retrieves a dictionary 1 according to the key codes stored in a key code time memory part 3, and searches from the dictionary 1 each of the Chinese character codes which compose of the word, and stores these codes at a word temporary memory part 5. And by the action of a output control part 6, the word applicable to the Chinese character codes is displayed on a display part 7, and outputs the Chinese character codes to a letter data memory part 8. In this way, the speed of input is substantially improved compared to the conventional method.
