<p>PURPOSE:To assure reliability of judgement on state of paper sheet in a copying machine etc., by mounting paper sheet detectors in a position corresponding to the bottom surface of a paper feed cassette and a paper sheet transport route just before a paper sheet separation means respectively, and judging the state of no paper sheet referring to the sum of both signals. CONSTITUTION:Reflection type optical paper sheet detectors 300, 301 are disposed in a position corresponding to the bottom surface of a paper feed cassette 7 and a position corresponding to the paper sheet transport route just before a paper sheet separation means 288. And a no-paper sheet state detecting means 302 judges the state of no paper sheet, referring to the sum of both no-paper sheet state detection signals. In this case, it can be detected if a paper sheet support plate 243 is lowered with a paper sheet P placed thereon, but such a condition can not be detected by the detector 300, if the last sheet separated by a roller 290 is pinched between rollers 289, 290. But, the detector 301 can detect such a condition and it can be prevented that judgement 'no paper' is issued regardless of presence of a paper sheet P.</p> |
