<p>PURPOSE:To treat dust-containing air such as tobacco smoke with good efficiency, by providing a suction port to the central part provided to the lower surface of an air purifier and separating dust-containing air sucked from the suction port into left and right streams by a flow dividing guide to exhaust both streams to lateral directions through a dust collection electrode. CONSTITUTION:When a switch is closed in such a state that high voltage is applied between ionization electrodes 4, 4' and opposed electrodes 5, 5' from a power source 9, dust-containing air sucked from a suction port 1 is divided into left and right streams by a flow dividing guide 3 and dust is charged and collected by respective electrodes 4, 4', 5, 5' which are almost symmetric around the flow dividing guide 3 and provided in parallel to the wind flow passages. Because purified air is exhausted laterally by conductive honeycombs 7, 7', for example, when an air purifier is provided to the ceiling in the room of an automobile, air is sucked from the lower surface thereof and exhausted to left and right directions and, therefore, efficient treatment can be performed even if tobacco is smoked at both front and rear seats.</p> |
