Device for extending, at the rear portion, vehicles of the fitted-out "van" type, when stationary. The invention relates to a device making it possible to free an additional volume, at the rear portion of vehicles, when stationary. It consists of a volume 1 sliding at the rear of the vehicle 2 on rails or jacks 3 operating electrically or manually. This volume is composed of three vertical walls and a roof panel. The underside panel 4 is hollowed out so as not to take up floor space in the vehicle in the drawn-in position. The hollowed-out portion is covered over by a panel which can be folded down serving, possibly, as a sleeping support. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for increasing the internal volume of fitted-out vehicles of the "van" (camping van) type, via the rear and when stationary. <IMAGE>
