The invention relates to an apparatus for gaining access to the outer surfaces of radomes for inspection work and the like. The apparatus according to the invention is designed as a travelling carriage and can be rolled up and down on the outer surface of the radomes by means of a cable-line mechanism. This makes it easier to gain access to radomes and renders the aluminium ladders, which have been used for this purpose up until now and which impair the characteristics of the antennas covered by the radomes, superfluous.
