Compds. of formula (I): (wherein R = 3-10C alkyl or PhCH2), and their salts with alk. metals and alk. earth metals, useful as hypolipaemic agents, are prepd. by etherifying a tetrahydronaphthyl phenol with an alpha-hydroxy carboxylic acid deriv. or by decarboxylating a subst. malonic acid or ester or by hydrolysing a functional deriv. of the title compd.</p> |
