<p>Labelling reagents are derivatives of sulphur-containing amino acids or taurine labelled with an artificially high concentration of S-35, which derivatives include coupling groups reactive with reactive groups of organic molecules to be labelled. Suitable coupling groups include N-succinimidyl or N-sulphosuccinimidyl groups, which are reactive with primary amine groups. Suitable organic molecules are macromolecules particularly proteins and polypeptides. Labelled organic molecules can be prepared having specific activities of more than 50 Ci/mmol, and are suitable for use by autoradiography.</p> |
