PURPOSE:To reduce the finish external diameter of an optical fiber connection part by determining the connection position of tension members while optical fibers are tensed and connecting them together, and forming a tension member connection part. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber cables 15 are drawn in the opposite directions to adjust optical fibers 17 twisted round a cushion layer 18. While the optical fibers 17 are tensed, the connection position of tension members 16 is determined and they are connected together, thereby forming the tension member connection part 2a. Thus, connection parts 1a and 2a are formed and such a post-treatment that those connection parts 1a and 2a recovered with a protection sleeve is carried out. Consequently, it is not necessary to provide a conventional storage guide when the optical fibers 17 are connected, and the finish external diameter of the optical fiber connection part is reduced. |
