PURPOSE:To make it possible to observe a minute image while obtaining its magnified image on an output phosphor screen by converting an optical image of a substance into an electron image while magnifying it electron-optically. CONSTITUTION:A window 2 is formed in the center of the first base of a glass airtight container while making only the part of the window 2 to be thin for preventing an optical imge from being out of focus while maintaining vacuum- tightness. A sample 3 closely placed on said window 2 is irradiated by a light source 1 while transmitting a generated transmission image on the photoelectric surface 7. Then, an electric field generation means 16 gives the prescribed potential to the respective electrodes 9 and 10 for accelerating the electrons generated on the photoelectric surface 7 toward the phosphor screen 8. Further, a current having a fixed relation is supplied from a generation circuit 13 to the focusing coils 11 and 12 thus making it possible to change the magnification of an image to be formed on the phosphor screen 8. Accordingly, the whole image of the sample 3 is formed on the phosphor screen in a state of the electron-optical magnification 1 while inputting the magnification from an input means thus obtaining a desired magnification image. |
