1. Process for the preparation of a phosphinamide, which consists in reacting a 1,3,2-oxazaphospholidine with an organic halide, R**2 X, where X is chlorine, bromine or iodine, R**2 being an alkyl, aryalkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl or a saturated chain carrying functional groups, particularly ester, ether or ketone, characterised in that the reaction takes place with the exclusion of air and in the absence of moisture.
