PURPOSE:To achieve clear two-color development free of mixing of colors and with favorable color separation property, record images with high density and obtain stability with time, by using a dye and a color developer having specified melting points in each of high-temperature and low-temperature color forming layers. CONSTITUTION:A two-color thermal recording material comprises on a base a high-temperature color forming layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer, a decoloring agent layer comprising a decoloring agent, and a low- temperature color forming layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer, in sequence. In the recording material, the melting points of the dye and the color developer in the high-temperature color forming layer are not lower than 150 deg.C, while the melting points of the dye and the color developer in the low- temperature color forming layer are not lower than 60 deg.C and at least one thereof is not higher than 130 deg.C, and the melting point of the decoloring agent is 120-160 deg.C. Accordingly, a two-color thermal recording material can be obtained which shows clear two-color development and is capable of recording images with high density and excellent stability with time. |
