PURPOSE:To enhance printing speed and reduce contamination, by printing at the time of rewinding a recording paper as well as at the time of taking up the recording paper. CONSTITUTION: The upper end of an ink part 5 and the upper end of a printing region 3a are made to conform with each other (a). An ink ribbon 4 and the recording paper 3 are taken up (b), and printing in yellow is conducted in the region 3a by the ink part 5. From the state (b), only the ink ribbon 4 is taken up (c), and the lower end of an ink part 6 and the lower end of the region 3a are made to conform with each other (c). The ink ribbon 4 and the paper 3 are rewound (d), and printing in magenta is conducted in the region 3a by the ink part 6. From the state (d), only the ribbon 4 is taken up (e), and the upper end of an ink part 7 and the upper end of the region 3a are made to conform with each other (e). Then, the ribbon 4 and the paper 3 are taken up, and printing in cyan is conducted in the region 3a by the ink part 7. Accordingly, since a color image in 8 colors is obtained, the period of time required for a printing process is shortened, and since the recording paper 3 is moved only at the time of printing, contamination is reduced. |
