PURPOSE:To discriminate visually the wear limit of an opposite face of a magnetic head to a medium by providing a projection to other part so that a new contact part appears at wear limit in addition to a contact face of an electromagnetic converting part and other contact part. CONSTITUTION:A face of a magnetic head 10 opposite to a magnetic tape 4 wears by the running of the magnetic tape 4, a wear limit not satisfying the electric performance exists attended with the wear and the shape of the wear face transits to 28'-31'. A shape (projection) appearing newly other contact faces 32, 33 is added at the point of time so as to attain discrimination by visual check whether the limit reaches the wear limit or not. Since the projections 32, 34 are formed at the same time in forming and processing the entire shape, no excess man-hour is required. |
