HERBICIDAL COMPOSITIONS FOR KILLING MONOCOTYLEDONOUS AND DICOTYLEDONOUS WEEDS IN MAIZE

A herbicidal composition and a method of treatment for killing mono- and dicotyledonous weeds in maize. The composition contains as active ingredient a chloro acetanilide derivative of general formula (I) as herbicide, wherein independently of each other R1 stands for hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, R2 stands for hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, R3 stands for propyl, iso-propyl, methoxy-methyl, methoxy ethyl, ethoxy methyl, R4 stands for chloro acetyl, and a thiol carbamate derivative of general formula (II) as a further herbicide, wherein independently of each other R5 stands for straight or branched chained C1-5 alkyl, R6 stands for straight or branched chained C1-5 alkyl, R7 stands for straight or branched chained C1-5 alkyl, and the weight ratio of chloro acetanilide derivatives of general formula (I) to the thiol carbamate derivatives of general formula (II) is 1.2-1:3-1.
