PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound by the dimerization of propylene, using a catalyst prepared by supporting Na, K, Na amide, etc. on a carrier composed of K2O and Al2O3, optionally hydrogenating the product, and contacting with an ester. CONSTITUTION:The titled compound is produced by the dimerization of propylene, using a catalyst prepared by supporting Na, K, Na amide, K amide, etc. on a carrier composed mainly of the compound of formula I (0.5<=x<=11) and preferably containing a small amount of potassim carbonate, optionally treating the product with hydrogen and/or oxygen, and contacting with the ester of formula II (R<1> is 1-15C chain or cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, 6-20C aryl, or aralkyl; R<2> is aliphatic hydrocarbon residue). EFFECT:The catalyst has short induction period, high dimerization activity, high selectivity, and long catalytic life. |
