摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce inertial weight put on a crankshaft by manufacturing a main body of a connecting rod with aluminium sintered alloy and forming the layer of sintered alloy of copper alloy group on a sliding surface of the small and large end parts of said main body. CONSTITUTION:By filling molds for forming a connecting rod main body and a connecting rod cap separately with powdered Al alloy composed of Cu 4%, Si 10%, Mg 0.7%, Al remainder and further putting 4,000kg/cm<2> pressure on the molds, formed bodies of powder with 25g/cc density are obtained. Next, after further forming through compression powdered alloy, composed of 10% Pb - 10% Sn - remainder Cu, on the inner peripheral face of the hollow part 7 of the small end part of the connecting rod main body, said main body is heated along with the connecting rod cap up to about 500-600 deg.C in Rx gas atmosphere. Thereupon, the connecting rod main body and the cap are sintered, and the preparatory sintered layer of 0.3mm thickness is formed on the inner peripheral face of the hollow part of the small end part 6 is formed. Subsequent ly, the preparatory sintered layer is reheated by high frequency to about 800 deg.C, and regularly sintered, then machined, and formed into the layer 10 of metal with 0.25mm thickness. The large end part can be processed in like manner.
