1,168,679. Selective signalling. SENTRALINSTITUTT FOR INDUSTRIELL FORSKNING. 21 March, 1967 [22 March, 1966], No. 13145/67. Heading G4H. A pointer is moved manually to a selected position on a form or like document, signals representing the co-ordinates of the position being developed and supplied to a tape punch or a store in data processing apparatus together with supplementary information entered from a keyboard. The pointer may comprise a needle arranged to pierce the form and make contact with one of a set of isolated contact areas on a supporting table, coded co-ordinate signals being produced by diode matrices. The pointer may also include a photo-cell to detect specially marked positions on the form and develop a signal to inhibit further co-ordinates being entered until data has been entered from the keyboard. A pneumatically operated stamping device incorporated in the pointer marks each position on the form after or before the relevant information is recorded. |
