PURPOSE:To save useless power consumption by engaging/disengaging a clutch member slidable only in the axial direction with the drive slide intermediate shaft coaxial with the gear of a striking rotation transmission mechanism provided with a fixed clutch member so that a hammer is not driven during boring by rotation only. CONSTITUTION:A transfer lever is rotated to shift a movable clutch member 74 to the right against a coil spring 80. Then, the movable clutch member 74 is disengaged from the fixed clutch member 77 of a bevel gear 68, and the spline groove 75 of the member 74 is disengaged from the spline lug 76 of a intermediate shaft 35. Thereby, the rotation of the shaft 35 is not transmitted to a connecting rod 62 and a hammer 26, a it 28 is only rotated, no driving force is required for a hammer 26, and useless power consumption can be prevented. |
