PURPOSE:To have sorting of sheets easily regardless of the printer for treatment of the sheets by equipping the sheet sorting device with a bar code reader, and by selecting stackers according to the value of the bar code affixed to the sheet concerned. CONSTITUTION:Each sheet 12 with a bar code is placed on a sheet transport belt 11. A bar code reader 4 is installed at the sheet inlet to an automatic sorting device in a location close to the sheet path, and the output information is sent to a control part 5-i.e., the data read by this bar code reader 4 is transferred to a code conversion table 6. The data transformed into another code is decoded by a decoder 7, and only one signal of the decoder output is made to LOW level. A stacker selector 9 corresponding to appropriate switching circuit 8 of the LOW level signal is turned down, and the sheet 11 is accommodated in, for ex., a stacker 10-4 specified by the stacker selector 9-4. |
