The invention relates to a low-flying flight control system for aircraft or missiles along a predetermined flight path, in the case of which fix points and waypoints are defined from the predetermined flight path and are fixed and stored, with their altitude values relative to the mean sea level (MSL), and these values are used to determine the desired flying altitudes by interpolation in accordance with an analytical or tabular function, and a vertical command is passed to the autopilot at the correct time, by comparison with the actual altitude values. In consequence, not only is the electronic complexity reduced but safety during low flying is also considerably improved.
