PURPOSE:To easily erase a magnetic tape in such a way that other programs are not erased at their leading ends and tailing ends and unnecessary sections are surely erased, by appropriately operating a full-width magnetic eraser head when inversional reproduction or high-speed inversional reproduction is made and erasing the unnecessary sections while confirming the unnecessary sections. CONSTITUTION:Since a magnetic tape 1 moving in the opposite direction shown by the arrow A is erased by a full-width erasing head 12 immediately after it is reproduced by a video recording/reproducing head 9 when a magnetic eraser circuit is operated at the time of inversional reproduction, the erasion is made while confirming the section to be erased through reproduced pictures. Therefore, erasion of an unnecessary section is started by moving the magnetic tape 1 in the opposite direction after the tape 1 is reproduced and its recorded condition is roughly grasped and, by closing an erasing switch at the ending part of the unnecessary section and opening the switch at the starting part of the section while watching the section to be erased, partial erasion can be performed easily. |
