<p>A mowing machine comprises pairs of contrarotating mowing members (5) arranged in a row and having blades (40). Behind each pair of mowing members (5) is a pair of conditioning members (31 to 36). The conditioning members (31 to 36) act to crush or crimp crop cut by the mowing members (5). The conditioning members are rotatable about axes (38) which slope forwardly from bottom to top. The paths of the outer peripheries of the conditioning members (31 to 36) of each pair intersect each other and lie close to the paths of the blades (40) of the adjacent mowing members (5). The conditioning members (31 to 36) extend to a level below the plane of the blades (40). The conditioning members (31,32; 35,36) at the ends of the machine are disposed to discharge crop towards the centre.</p> |
