PURPOSE:To prevent a disturbing signal from being generated in an off-track state and to maintain a high S/N by forming a nonmagnetic spacer in a wedgelike shape having a tip angle theta, and arranging a playback gap and an erasure gap slantingly at an angle theta. CONSTITUTION:The nonmagnetic spacer 3 interposed between a core 1 for recording and reproduction and a core 2 for erasure is formed in the wedgelike shape having the tip angle theta. Further, the gap 6 for recording and reproduction and gap 8 for erasure are arranged slantingly at the angle theta so that flanks of both cores 1 and 2 are on the same plane. Therefore, if the off-track state occurs, no recording signal is read in the gap 8 for erasure because the gap 8 is not parallel to the gap 6 for recording and reproduction, and no output is generated. Consequently, no disturbing signal is induced at the recording coil and a high S/N is maintained. |
