PURPOSE:To enhance color forming property and preservation of both recorded parts and blank parts, by using [1,3-dihydroxy-6(alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl)]-benzene as a color developer in a thermal recording material comprising a leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:As a color developer for a known leuco dye based on fluoran or the like, [1,3-dihydroxy-6(alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl)]-benzene is used in an amount of 50-800wt% based on the dye. The dye and the color developer are separately pulverized, and are mixed with a known binder, e.g., polyvinyl alcohol, a pigment, a lubricant and other additives, and the resultant mixture is applied to a base such as a paper and a synthetic film. In addition to the above color- former compound, a known color-former such as a phenol can be used in combination. |
