PURPOSE:To bond strongly, e.g., an epihalohydrin rubber with a chlorinated polyolefin rubber without detriment to their essential properties, by using a thermoplastic polyester block copolymer as an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester block copolymer comprising a high- melting polyester segment (of a m.p. >=about 150 deg.C as a homopolymer) and a low-melting polyester segment (of a m.p. <=about 80 deg.C as a homopolymer) of a MW of about 400-6,000 is molded into a sheet or film of a thickness of about 0.02-3mm for use as an adhesive. This adhesive is sandwiched between epihalohydrin rubber, chlorinated polyolefin rubber or acrylic rubber and chlorinated polyolefin rubber and the rubbers are bonded together by application of heat and pressure under conditions of a temperature of about 150-250 deg.C, a pressure of about 50g/cm<2> (G) and a time of several to tens of seconds. |
