For the potential-isolated measurement of direct currents (Jg), a control choke (Dr1) is used which is paired with a second control choke (Dr2). The control chokes are connected to impedances (Z1,Z2) in such a manner that a bridge circuit is produced. One bridge diagonal is connected to inputs of a differential amplifier (DV), the output signal of which is fed back to one winding (w4) of the second control choke (Dr2). Due to this configuration, it is possible to measure direct current without opening the conductor (L) carrying current and without drift phenomena. <IMAGE>
