Method for cooling the motor of a pump by wall cooling, by the dissipated heat of the motor being passed downwards in a wall (2), which surrounds the motor and whose thickness increases in a downward direction, through the seam between the parts (2, 3) into the cold pump section and into the liquid to be pumped. The problem in modern wall-cooled pumps is the corrosion in the seam between the parts (2, 3) and the heat transfer capability reduced thereby. In a pump corresponding to the invention this problem has been overcome by the seam between said parts (2, 3) being sealed essentially close to the outer edge of the seam with a seal (1) and by as large a contact area as possible being left between the inner edge of the seam and the seal.

|
