The present invention provides a composition containing, as active ingredients, Harpagophytum procumbens and Acanthopanax senticosus extracts for alleviating, preventing, or treating a pain. A composition of the present invention represents effects in alleviating and treating an evoked pain and in preventing a pain by injecting to an object before evoking the pain. The composition of the present invention significantly represents a pain alleviating effect through an oral administration but not through a method such as an intravenous injection or a skin application, etc. The composition of the present invention having the same properties has a high applicability to food.
